Simeon Dann BA (Hons), MA, PGCE

House Parent, Secondary School English and History teacher

Simeon graduated from Sheffield University with a BA (Hons) in Philosophy. After graduating, he received various teaching qualifications including a PGCE and a Masters in Education and has taught a variety of subjects in the British, German and International systems, teaching GCSE, A Levels and IB classes. In 2012, he joined Worth School as a teacher, deputy Houseparent and Head of Years 10 & 11, helping the GCSE cohorts through those important years. While living in Sussex, he worked as a safeguarding governor for a primary school in Brighton and led different educational research groups looking at subjects as diverse as the impact of pupil nutrition and philosophy for children (P4C), publishing studies into the impact of sugar and caffeine on pupil progress and behaviour. In 2019, Simeon joined Schule Schloss Salem in Germany as a Housemaster and teacher, running Schloss Salem’s RoundSquare group. Simeon joined VIS as Housemaster, teacher and Designated Safeguarding Lead in January 2022.

Simeon is married to a Valaisanne and enjoys walking his dog, singing complex polyphony in the cathedral and learning about obscure subjects in his free time.
