Why Verbier International School?

VIS is one of Switzerland’s newest and most exciting boarding and day schools for the whole year or just the Winter term.

Although relatively recently founded, VIS has grown quickly to cater to the demand for international education in Verbier from its international and local residents. Recently we established a boarding house to accomodate students from further afield.

Our Winter term is truly unique. We provide an educational provision for families who wish to spend the winter months in Verbier but may be based elsewhere. Our school seamlessly accommodates these extra students with a warm welcome into our family atmosphere and inclusive culture.

We are rooted in the local community and believe that French language mastery helps us achieve close connections within Verbier but also provides an impetus for internationalism and a more global outlook. The very youngest children follow a bilingual education, and later French language is emphasised.

VIS follows an adapted version of the English National Curriculum which promotes the role of outdoor education, and prioritises the concepts of family, close individual attention and the importance of a well-rounded or holistic education. We offer a huge range of different After School Activities to stimulate our children from cross stitch to golf and dance to debating.

As students progress through the school they are prepared for GCSEs and the school is accredited by Cambridge International Examinations.

Skiing is an integral part of the school and we have established a reputation for delivering an exceptional ski experience for all our children.

All children have access to Ecole de Ski Suisse (ESS) during their twice weekly afternoon ski sessions.

We offer different programmes for students who wish to extend their racing or freeride skills in this winter paradise.

In addition to our full time academic and skiing programmes we offer the option of a VIS Winter Experience whereby students can opt to stay for one, two or even three weeks in our boarding house.

VIS  provides life changing opportunities that stimulate our students’ natural curiosity, teach them valuable life skills and attitudes and ground them in a place they will never forget.
