Care at VIS

The care and fulfilment of each young person is our key priority. Each decision made at the school is centred around the best for each and every child.

Care at VIS centres on a warm, family focused environment.

We include all our community to ensure every young person is given the care and support he or she needs to flourish and be happy.

The dedicated teaching staff strive to develop our students’ ability to make wise and kind choices.

Students are through our connected curriculum and PSHE programmes how to foster happy and healthy relationships with their peers, teachers, families and the wider world.

Care at VIS has 4 distinguishing traits:

Safeguarding

Safeguarding our children is of paramount importance to us at VIS with parents, guardians and teachers working together. Safeguarding is woven into our curriculum through PSHE lessons, assemblies and through special events and external visitors.

The key contact relating to safeguarding is Julia Pickard, the Designated Safeguarding Lead.

Julia receives regular training in all aspects of Safeguarding and every other member of staff in school including Teachers, Teaching Assistants, Governors and the Office Team have been trained in Safeguarding.

Our Safeguarding Policy is available in the Policies section of our website.
