Scholarship
At VIS, we are committed to making our educational experience accessible to talented students from diverse backgrounds. Our goal is to provide scholarships for students whose families may not have the financial means to afford a VIS education. Currently, VIS is proud to support five students from around the world, thanks to the generosity of our community. We aim to build connections between those who believe in the value of a VIS education and the students who would benefit from such an opportunity.
We believe that the skills, experiences, and diverse perspectives these students bring enrich the learning experience for everyone at VIS.
Scholarship Funding
We are actively raising funds to help cover tuition fees and additional expenses that allow our scholarship students to fully engage in all aspects of life at VIS. For our older students, we also provide guidance with university applications to help them pursue successful careers, whether locally or internationally.
VIS is seeking partnerships with sponsors who are interested in providing financial aid to deserving students. Our scholarship program is available to both local and international students who might otherwise be unable to afford a VIS education. Scholarships are intended to support students throughout their entire journey at VIS, with financial assessments conducted for successful applicants.
The total amount of the scholarship offered will depend upon the financial means of parents and the student’s academic ability. We will prioritise local day students above international students.
Sponsors have the option to contribute to a general scholarship fund or support an individual student. We can facilitate introductions between sponsors and students if desired, or sponsors can choose to remain anonymous.
We encourage sponsors to consider committing to support a student through a specific academic program, such as the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP). Our primary focus is on students entering the IB DP or the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) program.
Scholarships are awarded based on a combination of financial need, academic merit and a commitment to the VIS Guiding Principles. Applicants must demonstrate a strong academic record, active involvement in extracurricular activities, and a commitment to personal growth.
Scholarship Process
The scholarship process is managed by the Scholarship Committee, and open to applicants entering Year 10 (US Grade 9) or Year 12 (US Grade 11). The selection process evaluates each candidate’s aptitude and motivation through the VIS admissions procedure. Scholarships remain with students until graduation, subject to annual achievement reviews including commitment to the VIS Guiding Principles.
We understand that transitioning to a new country and integrating into a new community can be challenging. To ensure our scholarship students feel welcome and supported, VIS offers a range of support systems, including buddy programs, welcome meetings, mentorship opportunities, houseparent guidance, tutor and well-being support, university advisory assistance, and participation in VIS trips.
