Alex Brighton MA Oxon (Hons)

Head of Co-Curricular, History teacher

After graduating from Oxford University in 2004, Alex Brighton taught History at Oundle School, the third largest boarding school in England. Other posts included School Expeditions officer, Oxbridge mentor, climbing and cross-country coach, and he was also Housemaster of a senior boarding house for six years. He has led multiple international school trips and Duke of Edinburgh expeditions in addition to being a Captain in the Combined Cadet Force. Alex is a keen endurance runner and cyclist. He is an exceptional mountaineer who has made first ascents in Kyrgyzstan and scaled many alpine peaks and routes.  He has a passion for the Alps and will enjoy living in the area with his wife Leti, an MFL teacher, and their two children, while teaching History and coordinating and developing VIS’s co-curricular programme.
