Alice Maréchal MA, DAEFLE

French Teacher, Class A Teacher and Spanish Teacher

Alice was born in Reims in France and grew up in the Champagne region. She studied a Master Degree in Spanish Language, Literature and Civilisation in the University of Reims, Champagne Ardennes. During her studies she worked as a Boarding Houseparent in a Hospitality School in Soissons. She obtained her Master Degree with high honours with a thesis on Mexican women and their place in modern society. After graduation, Alice went to Spain in 2008 to the University of Malaga for 1 year. She then moved to Ireland for 5 years. She studied in Alpha College School of Dublin to learn English and then joined the hospitality world and became the restaurant and event manager of a 5 star Hotel. She qualified as a DAEFLE teacher ( French teacher for foreigners) in 2012. She moved to London in 2014 where she became the General Manager of the Restaurants and Events of Fortnum and Mason for four years. She returned to France and worked in Paris for 3 years in different hospitality roles and eventing. Finally she moved to Verbier in 2020. She started as a French, Spanish, English Teacher in VLS and as a Teaching Assistant in VIS for the winter 2020/21. In September 2021 she joined full time the team of VIS and became a French and Spanish Teacher where she loves teaching with music and theatre.

In her spare time Alice likes to dance, bike, and travel. She loves theatre, dressing up, organising events and meeting with her friends. She enjoys a lot ski touring, dancing, reading and swimming. Alice speaks French, English and Spanish and a little bit of Italian.
