Joanna grew up in Southwest England. After completing her A-Levels in English, Psychology and Physical Education, she began studying at the University of Brighton. In 2014, she graduated with a First Class BA Honours degree in Primary Education, specialising in English, and gained her Qualified Teacher Status. After travelling the world for 18 months, she taught in Years 3, 4 and 5 in a UK primary school before moving to Chamonix in 2017, where she created her own tutoring business. She started at VIS teaching in Winter Term 2020 and has been the Class C teacher full time since August 2020. She started the school choir that October and has enjoyed enabling the children to perform in summer theatre productions. She is thoroughly enjoying studying French and is now studying for her Forest School Level 3 Qualification.
In her spare time, you will most likely find Jo up a mountain, climbing a cliff, or underwater. Her main passions include travelling, ski touring, mountaineering, rock climbing, running, scuba diving, Spartan races, playing her violin and making music with friends, dancing, and wake surfing.
