The Secondary School at Verbier International School is where curiosity develops into confidence, and potential becomes purpose. These are the years when students discover who they are, what inspires them, and the pathway they wish to pursue beyond school.
As the bridge between Primary and Senior School, our Secondary students play an important role within the school community. Sharing the same campus with younger pupils, they naturally become role models, demonstrating leadership, responsibility, and kindness through everyday interactions. At the same time, they are supported in making a smooth transition towards the increased independence and academic challenge of the senior years.
Students follow the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP), a rigorous and internationally recognised curriculum designed for learners aged 11 to 16. Rather than specialising too early, the MYP encourages students to explore a broad range of disciplines while developing critical thinking, creativity, communication, and real-world problem-solving skills. This breadth of learning allows students to make informed choices when selecting the six subjects they will study in the final two years through either the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) or the High School Diploma Programme.
