University Preparation

At Verbier International School, preparing for the future begins long before university applications are submitted. It starts from the moment a student joins our community, through conversations, observations, personalised guidance, and the meaningful relationships our staff build with every young person.

As students progress through the school, this guidance becomes increasingly focused and intentional. Our dedicated College Counselling Team, together with the Director of Academics, IB Coordinator, and teaching staff, work closely with each student to help them discover not only where they want to go, but what they want to do.

Through individual mentoring, career exploration, university guidance, and academic planning, students are encouraged to reflect on their interests, strengths, values, and aspirations. A wide range of workshops and profiling activities helps students better understand their personalities, identify their talents, and explore the many pathways available to them after graduation.

Learning extends far beyond the classroom. Throughout the year, students visit universities, attend higher education fairs, participate in webinars, and meet admissions representatives from leading institutions around the world. We also regularly welcome universities to our campus, giving students and families the opportunity to ask questions and gain valuable insights directly from admissions professionals.

Equally important is learning from people who have already walked different paths. Our students regularly meet alumni, entrepreneurs, academics, athletes, and industry leaders who share their personal journeys, the successes, the challenges, and the lessons they have learned along the way. These authentic conversations encourage students to think broadly about their own futures and understand that there is no single definition of success.

One of the most inspiring initiatives within our community is Voices of the Mountains. Through this series, students, staff, and invited guests share personal stories of resilience, growth, and defining moments that have shaped their lives. These presentations develop confidence in public speaking while inspiring others to reflect on their own journeys, embrace challenges, and appreciate the power of storytelling.

As part of the Dukes Education family, our students also benefit from an extensive international network, providing access to additional university events, expert guidance, collaborative opportunities, and experiences that broaden their horizons.

Whether a student’s ambition is to attend a world-leading university, pursue a creative career, launch a business, take a gap year, or follow another pathway entirely, our commitment remains the same: to help every young person discover a future that is meaningful to them and to provide the guidance, confidence, and support to make it a reality.

Our students receive offers from some of the world’s leading universities, including University College London (UCL), King’s College London, Imperial College London, the University of St Andrews, Vanderbilt University, Trent University, IE University Madrid, EHL, and many more. While the United Kingdom and the United States remain popular destinations, we have also seen a growing interest in universities across Canada, continental Europe, and Switzerland, reflecting the increasingly diverse aspirations of our students.
