School Trips

Exploring Beyond Verbier

Some of the most memorable learning experiences happen when students step outside their familiar surroundings.

Throughout the academic year, VIS students have opportunities to take part in a wide range of trips, from subject-specific educational visits and competitions to international adventures during school holidays.

Academic trips complement classroom learning and may include theatre, history and art trips, sporting competitions, academic competitions, university visits, and other subject-related experiences.

During selected half-term holidays, students may also choose to join international trips built around service, sport, culture, and adventure.

Depending on the year, these might include contributing to community projects on a service trip to Moldova, surfing in Portugal or Morocco, skiing in Japan or Canada, or discovering the history, culture, food, and traditions of destinations such as Italy and France.

Every trip has a purpose. Students are encouraged to experience new cultures, try unfamiliar activities, develop independence, and see the world from different perspectives.

Travelling together also creates something equally important: shared experiences. Away from their normal routines, students form stronger friendships, learn to look after one another, and return with stories and memories that become part of their VIS journey.

The world provides another classroom, and we want our students to explore it.
