Winter Ski Programme

Piste Performance: All Year Groups

During the winter months, the mountains become an extension of the VIS classroom. In place of regular PE lessons during the week, students take to the slopes, choosing between skiing and snowboarding and following a programme suited to their ability and ambitions.

From first turns to confidently tackling black runs, our Piste Performance Programme is designed for skiers and snowboarders of all levels who want to improve their skills and make the most of the terrain in Verbier and the 4 Vallées.

Students are placed into groups according to ability and supported by experienced instructors as they progress. Beginners focus on building strong foundations, developing the technique and confidence they need to move around the mountain safely and independently. Students progress through the Swiss Snow League levels in accordance with ESSV.

As students advance, they work on more technical skills, including carving, short turns, moguls, steeper terrain and variable snow conditions. More experienced groups can also explore elements of freestyle, including tricks and jumps.

With more than 400 km of skiing across the 4 Vallées, students have plenty of opportunity to put these skills into practice on different terrain and in changing conditions.

Whether they are putting on skis or a snowboard for the first time or already working towards an advanced level, Piste Performance gives students a clear pathway to becoming more confident, capable and versatile on the mountain.
